The best stories aren’t just told; they’re told well. This story about one of my personal heroes is no exception. Minnie was a young lady who lived in rural China in the 1930s.

Because her parents were too poor to afford a school for her to attend, she worked the fields alongside her father. In her spare time, Minnie would read books and collect stones and shells in nearby rivers and streams.

Did you ever wonder why there are so many Minnie Mouse hats in your local toy store? Why is there such a big demand for those Minnie Mouse hats and T-shirts? Well, it’s because she’s probably the most recognizable character in the world.

That’s why I’m writing this book on how to market your brand using Minnie Mouse as your spokesperson.

When she was three years old, Minnie’s father died. He had been a farmer, but he had made bad investments in the business. He had been unable to pay the mortgage, and the bank foreclosed on the farm. Minnie’s mother became a domestic worker to support the family, which consisted of her and Minnie.

At last, she said, “Yes, I am willing to do so.” She knew that her salary and benefits were not much higher than that of the other workers and that there might be other applicants for the job. However, she was happy with the work and her life at that time and was eager to continue working with her current employer. The manager answered, “It will be good for you to come back. You are a great worker and the manager likes you very much. The team manager also likes you very much.”

Minnie was a real-life character in the Disney film, “Mickey’s Magical Christmas”. She wasn’t the lead character but she was definitely one of the movie’s best sidekicks. She was played by actress, Rosalind Chao.
